Monde is a hivemind A.I. used by The Imperium, especially by the fayries, which can govern the lives of organics to their perfect satisfaction.

In the Medieval Era, King Arthur of Space Britain and his Knights of the Round Table came to Uranus to visit the Fayrie King and the fayrie people[Pan 1]. The Fayrie King revealed that the fayries had become so complaisant and reliant on Monde that they had stopped functioning themselves, stopped innovating and were now a species doomed to extinction. The Fayrie King took King Arthur, Prince Mordred, Sir Bedivere and The Black Knight to view Monde[Pan 2].
